Ron Cox is the Acting Chief of Staff for the Strategic Business Management (SBM) Directorate at DFAS Indianapolis. SBM is responsible for establishing the business requirements for DoD transformation initiatives related to finance and accounting activities.

Mr. Cox began his federal career with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Columbus in 1978, moving to the U.S. Army Finance and Accounting Center, Indianapolis in 1980. Key positions over his 28 year career with DFAS include serving as the Deputy Director for Centralized Disbursing, and Director for Transportation Payments. He served as the Executive Assistant and Business Office Manager for Operating Forces, and as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director, Operations.

Ron has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Finance from Ball State University in Indiana. He also has a Master's Degree from Indiana University. He taught several courses for the University of Indianapolis and Vincennes University. Mr. Cox is the AGA Senior Vice President for Regional Services - Section 1, a CGFM, and a member of ASMC.

Ron lives in Indianapolis with his wife Cindy, and has 5 children and 4 grandchildren. His hobbies include golf and singing.
